CAMERON McCONVILLE JOINS THE V8 SUPERTOURERS SERIES
09 November 2011 | Cameron McConville has confirmed that he will drive in the New Zealand-based V8 SuperTourers category in 2012.
The versatile journeyman driver - currently contracted to Walkinshaw racing - will race for Melbourne Performance Centre in all seven rounds of the inaugural V8 SuperTourer Championship series.
The series has drawn many top-flight drivers, including V8 Supercars star and 2011 Bathurst 1000 pole-sitter Greg Murphy, alongside Kiwi racers and 2011 Bathurst 1000 drivers Craig Baird, Daniel Gaunt and John McIntyre.
"One thing's for sure: even though the series hasn't begun yet, everybody in Australian motor racing circles is already talking about this exciting new single engine and chassis concept," McConville said.
"I'm as keen as mustard to get behind the wheel of MPC's new VE2 Commodore entry. From what 'Murph' has told me it's a very good piece of kit, and the fact that it's a true level playing field excites me even more."
